| 6 | 6 | | relating to the requirements of entities that receive state funds |

| 7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 8 | | Sec. 772.602. DEFINITIONS. In this subchapter: |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | (1)"9-1-1 region" means the portion of a state planning |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | region established under Chapter 391, Local Government Code, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | composed of counties and municipalities that on September 1, 2015, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | exclusively received 9-1-1 system services provided by a 9-1-1 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | system operated through a regional planning commission. |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (2) "Board" means the board of managers of a district. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (3) "District" means a regional emergency |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | communication district created under this subchapter. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (4) "Regional planning commission" means a commission |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | or council of governments created under Chapter 391, Local |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Government Code, for a designated region. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 772, Health and Safety Code, is amended |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | by amending Section 772.610 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Sec. 772.610. AUDIT AND REPORTING REQUIREMENTS. |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (4) A district who receives state funds shall have a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | disaster plan in place on the occasion that a natural disaster |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | occurs. |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
