44 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
55 AN ACT
66 relating to the requirements of entities that receive state funds
77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 Sec. 772.602. DEFINITIONS. In this subchapter:
99 (1)"9-1-1 region" means the portion of a state planning
1010 region established under Chapter 391, Local Government Code,
1111 composed of counties and municipalities that on September 1, 2015,
1212 exclusively received 9-1-1 system services provided by a 9-1-1
1313 system operated through a regional planning commission.
1414 (2) "Board" means the board of managers of a district.
1515 (3) "District" means a regional emergency
1616 communication district created under this subchapter.
1717 (4) "Regional planning commission" means a commission
1818 or council of governments created under Chapter 391, Local
1919 Government Code, for a designated region.
2020 SECTION 1. Chapter 772, Health and Safety Code, is amended
2121 by amending Section 772.610 to read as follows:
2222 Sec. 772.610. AUDIT AND REPORTING REQUIREMENTS.
2323 (4) A district who receives state funds shall have a
2424 disaster plan in place on the occasion that a natural disaster
2525 occurs.
2626 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2727 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2828 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2929 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3030 Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
