| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Chapter 461, Transportation Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | adding Section 461.010 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 461.010. REDUCED FARE PROGRAMS FOR PEOPLE WITH | |
| 13 | 13 | DISABILITIES; INCLUSION OF ADULTS WITH MENTAL ILLNESS. A public | |
| 14 | 14 | transportation provider that offers reduced fares for people with | |
| 15 | 15 | disabilities must offer the same reduced fares for adults who have | |
| 16 | 16 | severe and persistent mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, major | |
| 17 | 17 | depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, | |
| 18 | 18 | obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorder, attention | |
| 19 | 19 | deficit/hyperactivity disorder, delusional disorder, bulimia | |
| 20 | 20 | nervosa, anorexia nervosa, or other severely disabling mental | |
| 21 | 21 | disorders that require crisis resolution or ongoing and long-term | |
| 22 | 22 | support and treatment. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
