77 relating to disposition of motor vehicle registration fees
88 collected by a county assessor-collector.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Sections 502.198(b) and (c), Transportation
1111 Code, are amended to read as follows:
1212 (b) Each Tuesday, a county assessor-collector shall credit
1313 to the county road and bridge fund an amount equal to the net
1414 collections made during the preceding week until the amount so
1515 credited for the calendar year equals the total of:
1616 (1) $200,000 [$60,000]; and
1717 (2) $600 [$350] for each mile of county road
1818 maintained by the county, according to the most recent information
1919 available from the department, not to exceed 500 miles.
2020 (c) After the credits to the county road and bridge fund
2121 equal the total computed under Subsection (b), each Tuesday the
2222 county assessor-collector shall:
2323 (1) credit to the county road and bridge fund an amount
2424 equal to 50 percent of the net collections made during the preceding
2525 week, until the amount so credited for the calendar year equals
2626 $500,000 [$125,000]; and
2727 (2) send to the department an amount equal to 50
2828 percent of those collections for deposit to the credit of the state
2929 highway fund.
3030 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
