| 7 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 26.006(a), Education Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 9 | 11 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 12 | | (a) A parent is entitled to: |
|---|
| 11 | 13 | | (1) review all teaching materials, instructional |
|---|
| 12 | 14 | | materials, and other teaching aids used in the classroom of the |
|---|
| 13 | 15 | | parent's child, including while the child is participating in |
|---|
| 14 | 16 | | virtual or remote learning; [and] |
|---|
| 15 | 17 | | (2) review each test administered to the parent's |
|---|
| 16 | 18 | | child after the test is administered; and |
|---|
| 17 | 19 | | (3) observe virtual instruction while the parent's |
|---|
| 18 | 20 | | child is participating in virtual or remote learning to the same |
|---|
| 19 | 21 | | extent the parent would be entitled to observe in-person |
|---|
| 20 | 22 | | instruction of the child. |
|---|
| 21 | 23 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 22 | 24 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 23 | 25 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 24 | 26 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 25 | 27 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
