| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 411, Government Code, is | |
| 12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 411.0541 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 411.0541. REQUIRED INFORMATION FOR FEDERAL | |
| 14 | 14 | INCIDENT-BASED CRIME STATISTICS REPORTING. The department and all | |
| 15 | 15 | local law enforcement agencies that use an incident-based reporting | |
| 16 | 16 | system to report information and statistics concerning criminal | |
| 17 | 17 | offenses committed in this state to the Federal Bureau of | |
| 18 | 18 | Investigation, as a part of the Uniform Crime Reporting Program of | |
| 19 | 19 | the Federal Bureau of Investigation, shall include the ethnicity of | |
| 20 | 20 | an arrestee in the reported incident. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
