| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 43, Election Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 43.008 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 43.008. CAMPUS POLLING PLACE. (a) The commissioners | |
| 13 | 13 | court of a county shall designate as a polling place a location on | |
| 14 | 14 | the main campus of an institution of higher education as defined by | |
| 15 | 15 | Section 61.003, Education Code, located within the county if at | |
| 16 | 16 | least 5,000 students are enrolled in the institution. | |
| 17 | 17 | (b) The commissioners court of a county shall designate two | |
| 18 | 18 | polling places on the main campus of an institution of higher | |
| 19 | 19 | education as defined by Section 61.003, Education Code, if at least | |
| 20 | 20 | 10,000 students are enrolled in the institution, and shall | |
| 21 | 21 | designate one additional polling place for every additional 10,000 | |
| 22 | 22 | students enrolled in the institution. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
