| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. The legislature finds that any mandatory | |
| 10 | 10 | governmental programs for which no appropriation is made should be | |
| 11 | 11 | eliminated as unnecessary. | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 2. Section 403.0147, Government Code, is amended by | |
| 13 | 13 | adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (d) Notwithstanding any other law, a state agency is not | |
| 15 | 15 | required to implement a program identified in the two most recent | |
| 16 | 16 | reports made under this section and for which no appropriation is | |
| 17 | 17 | made for the current state fiscal year. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
