4	6		AN ACT
5	7		relating to conditions of community supervision for defendants
6	8		convicted of certain criminal offenses involving animals.
7	9		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
8	10		SECTION 1. Article 42A.511(c), Code of Criminal Procedure,
9	11		is amended to read as follows:
10	12		(c) If a judge grants community supervision to a defendant
11	13		convicted of an offense under Section 21.09, 42.091, 42.092, 42.10,
12	14		or 42.105, Penal Code, the judge may:
13	15		(1) require the defendant to relinquish custody of any
14	16		animals in the defendant's possession;
15	17		(2) prohibit the defendant from possessing or
16	18		exercising control over any animals or residing in a household
17	19		where animals are present; or
18	20		(3) require the defendant to participate in a
19	21		psychological counseling or other appropriate treatment program
20	22		for a period to be determined by the court.
21	23		SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
