                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             April 21, 2021       TO: Honorable Larry Taylor, Chair, Senate Committee on Education     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: SB776 by Lucio (relating to the creation of an inclusive sports program by the University Interscholastic League to provide students with intellectual disabilities access to team sports.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would require that the University Interscholastic League ensure that students with intellectual disabilities have an opportunity to participate in team athletic activities by establishing and maintaining an inclusive sports program. Based on information provided by The University of Texas at Austin, any costs associated with implementing provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.  Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
