CRIMINAL JUSTICE IMPACT It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly create a criminal offense, increase the punishment for an existing criminal offense or category of offenses, or change the eligibility of a person for community supervision, parole, or mandatory supervision. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. ANALYSIS S.B. 785 amends the Occupations Code to change the date on which an original or renewed school marshal license expires from the first birthday of the license holder occurring after the second anniversary of the date of issuance or expiration, as applicable, to August 31 following that second anniversary. The change of expiration date applies to a license regardless of whether the license was issued or renewed before, on, or after the bill's effective date. EFFECTIVE DATE September 1, 2021.
