| 7 | 7 | | relating to certain qualified residential rental assistance |

| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 1372.002(f), Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (f) Notwithstanding Subsection (c), an applicant to which |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | this subsection applies may aggregate more than one qualified |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | residential rental project into a single, combined project as part |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of the participation of the housing authority for the applicable |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | municipality in: |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (1) the Rental Assistance Demonstration program |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | administered by the United States Department of Housing and Urban |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Development, as specified by the Consolidated and Further |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Continuing Appropriations Act of 2012 (Pub. L. No. 112-55) and its |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | subsequent amendments, if the combined project is related to the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | municipal housing authority's conversion of public housing units as |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | permitted under that program; or |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (2) another program administered by the United States |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Department of Housing and Urban Development if the combined project |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | is related to the purpose of the program. |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
