4	4		SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
5	5		WHEREAS, The retirement of five esteemed volunteers for the
6	6		Texoma Exposition and Livestock Show provides a fitting opportunity
7	7		to recognize them for their long and distinguished service; and
8	8		WHEREAS, A beloved tradition in Grayson County, the annual
9	9		Texoma Exposition and Livestock Show allows area students to
10	10		develop and showcase their skills in animal husbandry, mechanics,
11	11		and creative arts and crafts; and
12	12		WHEREAS, Each year, numerous volunteers oversee the
13	13		competitions and work to ensure the event's success; following 46
14	14		years with the exposition and livestock show, Mary Nan Story of
15	15		Whitesboro is concluding her tenure as treasurer and superintendent
16	16		of the clothing division; Aurelia Holcomb and Mary Reed of Gunter
17	17		recently stepped down as craft superintendents, having each
18	18		volunteered for four and a half decades; in addition, Cathy Rains of
19	19		Sherman is leaving her post as show superintendent after 25 years of
20	20		service to the organization, and Martha Mears of Denison, who has
21	21		also served for 25 years, is retiring as secretary; and
22	22		WHEREAS, By giving generously of their time and talents to
23	23		the Texoma Exposition and Livestock Show, these dynamic women have
24	24		made a positive difference in the lives of countless young Texans,
25	25		and they may indeed reflect with pride on their invaluable
26	26		contributions; now, therefore, be it
27	27		RESOLVED, That the 87th Legislature of the State of Texas
28	28		hereby commend Mary Nan Story, Aurelia Holcomb, Mary Reed, Cathy
29	29		Rains, and Martha Mears for their many years of service to the
30	30		Texoma Exposition and Livestock Show and extend to them sincere
31	31		best wishes for the future; and, be it further
32	32		RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
33	33		prepared for these exceptional volunteers as an expression of high
34	34		regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
