11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 123
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 join the citizens of Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange, and the
44 surrounding communities in celebrating March 9, 2021, as the
55 first Virtual Golden Triangle Legislative Day; and
66 WHEREAS, Golden Triangle Day in Austin was established in
77 2007 as a means for civic leaders from the Beaumont, Port Arthur,
88 and Orange chambers of commerce to combine their advocacy efforts
99 during sessions of the Texas Legislature; the unprecedented
1010 challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic have led organizers of the
1111 event to adopt a virtual format; and
1212 WHEREAS, Virtual Golden Triangle Legislative Day provides
1313 an opportunity for citizens to build business relationships with
1414 others throughout Southeast Texas and with state officials and
1515 agency directors; representatives from across the region are
1616 participating in this important event; and
1717 WHEREAS, The chambers of commerce are truly deserving of
1818 special recognition for their efforts to organize this event for
1919 the benefit of Southeast Texas families and businesses; now,
2020 therefore, be it
2121 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
2222 Legislature, hereby extend best wishes for a successful and
2323 rewarding event to all those participating in the first Virtual
2424 Golden Triangle Legislative Day; and, be it further
2525 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
2626 honor of this special occasion.
