11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 15
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize Benjamin Havens for achieving the rank of
44 Eagle Scout; and
55 WHEREAS, This fine young man is a member of Scouts BSA
66 Troop 70 in the Longhorn Council; as he joins the elite corps of
77 Eagles, he will receive the coveted Eagle Badge at a Court of
88 Honor; and
99 WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only a
1010 small percentage of boys in the Scouts BSA program attain the
1111 rank of Eagle Scout; and
1212 WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and
1313 promise, Benjamin advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot,
1414 Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle
1515 Scout; and
1616 WHEREAS, This personable young man displayed leadership
1717 through planning, developing, and conducting a service project
1818 that benefited his community; for his project, he built trophy
1919 shelves for the Wortham High School Band Hall; he is truly a
2020 shining example to his fellow Scouts and the young people of
2121 Texas; and
2222 WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Benjamin has brought
2323 great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and
2424 his state; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
2626 Legislature, hereby commend Benjamin Havens on receiving this
2727 prestigious honor and congratulate him on his outstanding
2828 achievement; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
3030 Eagle Scout Havens as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
