1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 151
2	2	WHEREAS, The 131st Brenham Maifest is taking place May 7
3	3	and 8, 2021, and the spirited celebration promises to be great
4	4	fun for all who attend; and
5	5	WHEREAS, First celebrated in 1881, this event is one of the
6	6	oldest German spring festivals in the South; the celebration
7	7	highlights the rich cultural heritage of Brenham and Washington
8	8	County; and
9	9	WHEREAS, This much-awaited event includes an array of
10	10	festivities and features the coronation of the city's junior and
11	11	senior kings and queens; this year's Maifest royal court includes
12	12	Junior Royalty Queen Dinah Grace Sue Neil; and
13	13	WHEREAS, The outstanding young Texans who take part in the
14	14	Brenham Maifest are part of an enduring Washington County
15	15	tradition that provides hours of enjoyment and entertainment for
16	16	residents and visitors alike; the members of the royal court and
17	17	all those associated with the planning and preparation of the
18	18	event can indeed take pride in their contributions to the
19	19	community; now, therefore, be it
20	20	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
21	21	Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the 131st Brenham Maifest and
22	22	honor the members of the 2021 junior and senior royal court; and,
23	23	be it further
24	24	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a
25	25	memento of this special celebration.
