| 4 | 4 | | Heck Howell Outstanding Teaching of Texas History Award from |

| 5 | 5 | | Humanities Texas; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Peinado is one of only 16 humanities educators |

| 7 | 7 | | from across Texas to receive a 2020 Outstanding Teaching Award; the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | honors are given by Humanities Texas for exemplary contributions in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | teaching, curriculum development, and extracurricular programing; |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | over 700 teachers were nominated in 2020, and winners received a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | $5,000 cash award and an additional $1,000 to purchase |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | instructional materials; the Linden Heck Howell Outstanding |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Teaching of Texas History Award was established in memory of the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | former chair of the Humanities Texas board of directors as a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | tribute to her service to the organization and her commitment to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the study of Texas history; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A 13-year veteran of Ysleta Independent School |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | District, Mr. Peinado has been a member of the staff at Eastwood |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Knolls for the past four years; he teaches Texas history through |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | dual-language instruction in English and Spanish; prior to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | becoming a teacher, he served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | in all of his endeavors, Mr. Peinado enjoys the love and support |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of his wife, Faviola, who is also a teacher at Ysleta ISD; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Albert Peinado exemplifies the passion, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | our best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | which all in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Albert Peinado on receiving the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 2020 Linden Heck Howell Outstanding Teaching of Texas History |

| 31 | 31 | | Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success |
