1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 17
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize the state's certified registered nurse anesthetists
4	4	and to join them in celebrating January 24 through 30, 2021, as
5	5	Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists Week in Texas; and
6	6	WHEREAS, Certified registered nurse anesthetists are
7	7	advanced practice registered nurses who play an essential role in
8	8	our health care system; they are the sole anesthesia providers in
9	9	the majority of rural Texas counties and the primary providers of
10	10	anesthesia care to United States military personnel; and
11	11	WHEREAS, Nurse anesthetists work across a broad spectrum
12	12	of medical settings, and they administer anesthetics to millions
13	13	of patients each year; their expertise is a vital part of care in
14	14	traditional surgical environments and in a wide range of other
15	15	medical facilities, including general practice offices and
16	16	specialty clinics; and
17	17	WHEREAS, Among the nation's most trusted health care
18	18	professionals, nurse anesthetists are the first nursing
19	19	specialty group to be accorded direct reimbursement rights by
20	20	Medicare; and
21	21	WHEREAS, Texas is home to nearly 5,000 nurse anesthetists
22	22	who have devoted their careers to serving the citizens of the
23	23	Lone Star State; it is truly fitting that a week be set aside to
24	24	honor their many contributions to the health and well-being of
25	25	Texans; now, therefore, be it
26	26	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
27	27	Legislature, hereby commend all those who serve as certified
28	28	registered nurse anesthetists in Texas for the important role
29	29	they play in the provision of quality health care and extend to
30	30	them best wishes for a memorable Certified Registered Nurse
31	31	Anesthetists Week in Texas; and, be it further
32	32	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
33	33	honor of these dedicated health care specialists.
