| 5 | 5 | | Association of Secondary School Principals; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades |

| 7 | 7 | | Reform is an alliance of educators, researchers, national |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | associations, and officers of professional organizations and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | foundations dedicated to improving academic and developmental |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | outcomes for young adolescents; each year, the forum |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | collaborates with TASSP through the Schools to Watch program to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | recognize high-performing Texas schools that are academically |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | excellent, developmentally responsive, socially equitable, and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | structured for continuous improvement; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Ably led by principal Melanie Pondant, Judson |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | STEAM Academy serves more than 500 students in grades six through |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | eight, offering a holistic, rigorous curriculum and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | opportunities for global explorations and inquiry; the academy |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | is one of approximately 50 schools in the state to receive the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Texas Schools to Watch designation; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, A quality education is critical to the continuing |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | vitality of the Lone Star State, and the faculty and staff of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Judson STEAM Academy have attained impressive results through |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | their dedication to creating a learning environment that helps |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | students to reach their full potential; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Judson STEAM Academy on its |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | selection as a Texas School to Watch and that all those |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | associated with the campus be extended sincere best wishes for |
|---|
