| 3 | 3 | | recognize all associated with the annual Big T Memorial Cookoff |

| 4 | 4 | | and Music Festival in Fairfield, Texas; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Established in 2010 by the Golden Circle Special |

| 6 | 6 | | Needs Association, the Big T Memorial Cookoff and Music Festival |

| 7 | 7 | | is a charitable event that raises scholarship funds for deserving |

| 8 | 8 | | area students and benefits special-needs programs in Freestone, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Navarro, Limestone, Anderson, and Leon Counties; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The Big T Memorial Cookoff is sanctioned by the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Lone Star Barbecue Society and features talented chefs who |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | compete with one another to produce the tastiest wares in such |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | categories as beans, chicken, ribs, and brisket; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Texans are known for their love of music and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | barbecue, and the Big T Memorial Cookoff and Music Festival is |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | sure to provide spirited entertainment and first-rate cuisine |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | that satisfies the most discriminating of palates; now, |

| 18 | 18 | | therefore, be it |

| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby commend the sponsors and organizers of the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | annual Big T Memorial Cookoff and Music Festival for their |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | contributions to the community and extend to them best wishes for |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | continued success in their fund-raising endeavors; and, be it |
