| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Fight Crime: Invest in Kids, a nonprofit, |

| 3 | 3 | | nonpartisan organization dedicated to providing guidance and |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | support to at-risk youth, is celebrating its 25th anniversary in |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | 2021; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 1996, the organization is composed of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | sheriffs, chiefs of police, other law enforcement executives, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and concerned citizens in all 50 states, who share a commitment |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | to steering children away from crime and setting them on a path to |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | long-term success; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The law enforcement leaders who are part of the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | group work to ensure that Texas children and families have access |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | to high-quality, evidence-based resources, including voluntary |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | parent coaching, early childhood care and education, and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | afterschool and anti-recidivism programs; in addition, the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | organization operates a Police Training Institute where officers |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | are instructed on how to de-escalate conflict and have safe, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | positive interactions with at-risk young people; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Through their outstanding work to help youth |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | reach their full potential, the dedicated members of Fight Crime: |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Invest in Kids have made their communities stronger and safer, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and it is indeed a pleasure to recognize this commendable group |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | as it celebrates a significant milestone in its history; now, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commemorate the 25th anniversary of Fight |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Crime: Invest in Kids and recognize its members for the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | contributions they have made to the health, security, and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | well-being of Texas children; and, be it further |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
