| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Craig Campobella for his many accomplishments as a |

| 4 | 4 | | sculptor and for fostering an appreciation for the Lone Star |

| 5 | 5 | | State's rich cultural heritage through his brilliant works of |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | art; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Specializing in figurative and representational |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | bronze sculptures, Mr. Campobella is well known as the creator of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | "The Texian," a 14-foot-tall bronze sculpture depicting a common |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | man fighting in the Texas Revolution; it is the focal point of the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Lone Star Monument and Historical Flag Park, a popular Montgomery |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | County site; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A number of businesses and institutions have |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | commissioned Mr. Campobella's works; his "Texas Lady Liberty" is |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | displayed at the Spirit of Texas Bank headquarters, and his bust |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of Dr. Red Duke is featured at the Red Duke Trauma Institute at |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center; Mr. Campobella has also |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | sculpted likenesses of such noted performers as Marty Stuart, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Delbert McClinton, and Guy Clark for the Sounds of Texas Music |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | commemorative series; in 2015, Mr. Campobella received the True |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Texian Award from the Sons of the Republic of Texas, and awards |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | for his artwork include earning Best of Show three times from the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Lone Star Art Guild; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Campobella has given generously of his time |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and talent to benefit the performing arts in Montgomery County; |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | he launched a recognition program for volunteers who produce and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | perform in local theaters, and the Montie Awards have raised the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | cultural profile of the Conroe Downtown Arts District; in |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | addition, he has served in leadership roles with such |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | organizations as the Conroe Art League, the Downtown Design |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Committee, and the Conroe Commission on Arts and Culture; and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Through his talent and his commitment to |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | portraying Texas heritage, Craig Campobella has earned the |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | admiration and appreciation of countless citizens, and he may |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | indeed reflect with pride on his many contributions to this |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | state; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | Legislature, hereby honor Craig Campobella for his exceptional |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | achievements and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |

| 40 | 40 | | success; and, be it further |
