4	4	Fallen Health Care Workers
5	5	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
6	6	commemorates the many Texans in the medical community who lost
7	7	their lives in service as frontline workers during the COVID-19
8	8	pandemic; and
9	9	WHEREAS, Careers in health care require unwavering
10	10	integrity, commitment, and compassion by those who choose to
11	11	serve in the medical field, and those people make a positive
12	12	difference in the lives of countless individuals; whether they
13	13	serve as physicians, nurses, technicians, or administrators,
14	14	these trusted care providers work each day to help heal the sick
15	15	and hurting, and their exemplary service is an inspiration to
16	16	Texans across the state; and
17	17	WHEREAS, Hundreds of Texas families are mourning the loss
18	18	of treasured loved ones who contracted the coronavirus while
19	19	helping to protect their fellow citizens in service as COVID-19
20	20	frontline workers; and
21	21	WHEREAS, In addition to caring for the sick, many of our
22	22	fallen health care providers gave generously of their time to
23	23	charitable causes and community organizations; their civic
24	24	contributions have helped improve lives and communities
25	25	throughout the state; and
26	26	WHEREAS, It is the responsibility of all Texans to honor
27	27	the memory of those in the medical community whose lives were
28	28	tragically lost to COVID-19 and to offer support to the families
29	29	of those fallen heroes; now, therefore, be it
30	30	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
31	31	Legislature, hereby honor physicians and other members of the
32	32	Texas medical community who died after selflessly serving on the
33	33	front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic and extend sincere
34	34	condolences to their families, friends, and loved ones; and, be
35	35	it further
36	36	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
37	37	the families of our fallen health care workers.
