| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | join the citizens of Bryan in celebrating the city's 150th |

|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Bryan is a diverse community that offers its |

| 6 | 6 | | people a wide range of opportunities for employment, housing, and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | cultural activities; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The people of Bryan have always placed great |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | importance on education; the Bryan Independent School District |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | has provided exemplary programs throughout its history, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | nearby Texas A&M University and The Texas A&M University System |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | have had a positive impact on the city's history; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Since its establishment in 1871, Bryan has been |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | one of the state's leading communities; it is a vibrant city, and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | its residents embrace its rich and colorful past while looking |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | forward to a bright and prosperous future; now, therefore, be it |

| 17 | 17 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of Bryan on their |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | contributions to the growth and prosperity of our state and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | extend to them best wishes for a memorable 150th anniversary |

| 21 | 21 | | celebration; and, be it further |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
