| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Hector Manuel "Meme" Cabello, who died |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | May 24, 2020, at the age of 73; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Meme Cabello was a cherished Texas citizen and a |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | beloved member of the Laredo community, who was known for his |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | strong work ethic and his deep devotion to family; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Meme Cabello was born in Laredo on September 4, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 1946; after his graduation from Martin High School, he attended |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the University of Houston and worked in the grocery business with |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | his brother for many years; he went on to lead a successful and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | rewarding career as a business owner and established the Cabello |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Wrecker Service and an auction service for surplus goods; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Cabello was active in the Laredo community, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and he regularly attended worship services with his wife at |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Emmanuel Evangelical Church; he was involved in a number of local |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | organizations, and he was a committed supporter of groups for |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | military veterans and Sacred Heart Children's Home; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Noted for his engaging sense of humor and his |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | exuberant spirit, he loved to dance and to entertain friends and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | family with his quick wit and his captivating and creative |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | stories; he was dedicated to providing for his family, and he |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | found joy in supporting them in their pursuits; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Meme Cabello was a man of wisdom, integrity, and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | generosity, and he was beloved by many; he leaves behind memories |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | that will long be treasured by all who were privileged to know him |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | and to share in his life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | family of Hector Manuel Cabello: to his cherished wife, Rebecca |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Garza Cabello; his three children, Chris, Nicole, and Gabriel; |

| 35 | 35 | | and his five grandchildren; and, be it further |

| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 37 | 37 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
