| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Imani Mogaka has been named as the 2021 Youth of |

| 3 | 3 | | the Year for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County, and |

| 4 | 4 | | this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1947, the Youth of the Year |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | competition is the premier recognition program of the Boys & |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Girls Clubs of America; this comprehensive leadership |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | development initiative helps club members to build their skills |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | in such vital areas as communication, goal-setting, and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | teamwork; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the Boys & Girls Clubs 10 years ago, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Ms. Mogaka has formed lasting friendships and received valuable |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | guidance that has helped her to develop her confidence and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | abilities; she has served the club in several roles, including as |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | president of the Keystone Club and the Torch Club, as a leader of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the SMART Girls program, and as a mentor for younger members; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | currently a student at Lamar High School in Arlington, she excels |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | in her studies and performs with the school's show choir; she |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | plans to pursue a college degree in advertising and media |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | communications; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Imani Mogaka's selection as Youth of the Year is a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | fitting tribute to her considerable success in academics and her |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | proven leadership in her club and community, and she may indeed |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | reflect with pride on this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Imani Mogaka on her selection |

| 28 | 28 | | as the 2021 Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Clubs of |

| 29 | 29 | | Greater Tarrant County and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
