| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Brookshire Pipes "Brooks" McVean, who |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | died February 2, 2021, at the age of 13; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A cheerful young man with a vibrant spirit, Brooks |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | McVean brought joy into the lives of his many friends and loved |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | ones through his easy laughter, his contagious smile, and his |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Brooks McVean was born to Jon Jeffrey McVean and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Amanda Carter McVean on May 1, 2007, in San Antonio; he and his |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | parents and his older brother, Carter Houston McVean, moved to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Brenham in 2013; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Brooks was an eighth-grade student at Brenham |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Junior High School; he enjoyed participating in the Brenham |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Maifest and Brenham Cub Football, and he was a member of the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | National Junior Honor Society; he also enjoyed serving as an |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | acolyte at Saint Peter's Episcopal Church; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Brooks loved music and could often be found |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | breaking out with a dance move; he had a passion for football and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | was a die-hard fan of the Louisiana State University Tigers, and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | he was ecstatic when the Tigers enjoyed a perfect 2019-2020 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | season; he cherished time spent with family, and his delightful |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | sense of humor made family vacations and adventures all the more |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | memorable; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Brooks was a beloved member of the Brenham |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | community, and his courage in the face of his illness, Nephrotic |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Syndrome, was an inspiration to others; he will be missed by |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | many, yet his unique spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | family of Brookshire Pipes "Brooks" McVean; and, be it further |

| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 37 | 37 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
