SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 318
In Memory
of
Teodoro L. Contreras
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
commemorates the life of Teodoro L. Contreras, who died March 24,
2021, at the age of 88; and
WHEREAS, Teodoro Contreras was an exemplary citizen who
had a positive impact on his Brownsville community through his
participation and service in a range of religious, social, and
civic organizations; and
WHEREAS, He was born on April 15, 1932, to Apolinaria and
Francisco Contreras, and he went on to serve the nation with
distinction as a member of the armed forces; and
WHEREAS, Teodoro and his beloved wife, Ninfa Contreras,
were blessed with a daughter, Patricia Contreras, and a son,
Daniel Contreras, who were a source of much pride and joy for him;
and
WHEREAS, A man of courage, wisdom, and integrity, Mr.
Contreras gave generously of his time to others, and his devotion
to his family and his dedication to serving his community were an
inspiration to all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas hereby
extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Teodoro L.
Contreras; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
memory of Teodoro Contreras.
