| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Teodoro L. Contreras, who died March 24, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2021, at the age of 88; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Teodoro Contreras was an exemplary citizen who |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | had a positive impact on his Brownsville community through his |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | participation and service in a range of religious, social, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | civic organizations; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, He was born on April 15, 1932, to Apolinaria and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Francisco Contreras, and he went on to serve the nation with |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | distinction as a member of the armed forces; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Teodoro and his beloved wife, Ninfa Contreras, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | were blessed with a daughter, Patricia Contreras, and a son, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Daniel Contreras, who were a source of much pride and joy for him; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, A man of courage, wisdom, and integrity, Mr. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Contreras gave generously of his time to others, and his devotion |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | to his family and his dedication to serving his community were an |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | inspiration to all who were privileged to share in his life; now, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas hereby |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Teodoro L. |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Contreras; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | memory of Teodoro Contreras. |
