| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize N. Foster Edwards, who is retiring as executive director |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | of the San Patricio County Economic Development Corporation; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Foster Edwards joined the San Patricio County |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Economic Development Corporation in 2016 as executive director; |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | he had previously served the region in leadership roles that |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | included president and chief executive officer of the Corpus |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Christi Chamber of Commerce and president of Stewart Title of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Corpus Christi, Incorporated; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Under his outstanding leadership, the San |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Patricio County Economic Development Corporation has played a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | major role in bolstering the region's economy; through his |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | efforts as executive director, he has helped to facilitate |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | cooperation between the business community and area governmental |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | agencies, and he has overseen the successful management of key |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | areas of the organization; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Edwards established a Partners Breakfast in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | each of the nine cities in San Patricio County, and he developed |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | methods to help recruit new businesses to the region; he was |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | instrumental in finding solutions to the county's housing shortage, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and he led advocacy and outreach efforts for the county by |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | organizing San Pat Day in Austin during the Texas legislative |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | sessions; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary executive, he is respected and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | admired by his colleagues, and his leadership at the San Patricio |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | County Economic Development Corporation will be greatly missed; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby commend N. Foster Edwards on his exceptional |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | work as executive director of the San Patricio County Economic |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Development Corporation and extend to him best wishes for the |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | future; and, be it further |
