| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Gerry Hince of Bryan, who has been named the 2021 |

| 4 | 4 | | Outstanding Veteran Volunteer by the Texas Society of the |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Daughters of the American Revolution; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Gerry Hince is an esteemed veteran of the United |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | States Army, and her family includes multiple generations of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | distinguished veterans and members of our nation's armed forces; |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | her husband of 48 years is a veteran who served in the Vietnam |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | War, and her father served in World War II; she is the proud |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | mother of two sons who currently serve in the United States |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | military; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, She has been a dedicated advocate for veterans' |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | issues for many years through her involvement in a wide range of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | organizations, and she has been recognized on multiple occasions |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | for her exemplary work; she serves as chair of the Coalition of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Brazos Valley Veterans Organizations, and she played an integral |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | role in the group's development; she also serves as legislative |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | chair for the Texas American Legion Auxiliary, and she was |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | honored as the 2018-2019 Texas Legionnaire of the Year; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Her current service in support of veterans |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | includes her role as president of Chapter 937 of the Vietnam |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Veterans of America in Bryan-College Station and her position as |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | vice-chair of the National Veterans Unemployment and Education |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Commission; in addition, she serves as the community |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | representative for the Troops to College Program at Texas A&M |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | University; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Gerry Hince has demonstrated a remarkable |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | commitment to serving our nation's veterans and the Brazos Valley |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | veteran community, and it is truly fitting that she receive |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | special recognition for her invaluable contributions; now, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | therefore, be it |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Legislature, hereby commend Gerry Hince for her exceptional |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | efforts on behalf of our nation's military veterans and extend |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | congratulations to her on her selection as the 2021 Outstanding |

| 37 | 37 | | Veteran Volunteer by the Texas Society of the Daughters of the |
