| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Duncanville High School boys' basketball team, |

| 4 | 4 | | which won the 2021 University Interscholastic League Class 6A |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | state championship; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Duncanville Panthers won the program's fifth |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | state title and completed a historic run to become the school's |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | first back-to-back boys' basketball state champions; over the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | last three seasons, the Panthers have won 19 consecutive playoff |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | games, and the team finished the current season with a record of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 29-1; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, These young student athletes have demonstrated |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | great talent and perseverance over the course of the school year, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and team members can take great pride in their outstanding |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | performance; and |

| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Team members are: Zhuric Phelps, Ronald Holland, |

| 17 | 17 | | C. J. Ford, Omari Ford, Caleb Jones, Rasaun Collier, Aric |

| 18 | 18 | | Demings, Jackson Prince, Kaden Banks, Andre Kanu, Juan Reyna, |

| 19 | 19 | | Colin Simmons, Davion Sykes, Cameron Barnes, DeCannon Wickware, |

| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of |

| 22 | 22 | | head coach David Peavy, associate head coach Kevin Woods, varsity |

| 23 | 23 | | assistant coach Neiman Ford, and assistant coaches Daniel Moore, |

| 24 | 24 | | Jay Cosme, and Charles Hill, the Panthers developed exceptional |

| 25 | 25 | | teamwork and discipline; and |

| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Duncanville High School and the people of North |

| 27 | 27 | | Texas are proud of the Panthers for their hard work, their |

| 28 | 28 | | impressive skills, and their fine sportsmanship; now, therefore, |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |

| 31 | 31 | | Legislature, hereby commend the team members and coaching staff |

| 33 | 33 | | outstanding season and extend congratulations to them on winning |
