SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 34 In Memory of Jim-Bob Trant WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and commemorates the life of Jim-Bob Trant, who died January 12, 2021, at the age of 38; and WHEREAS, Jim-Bob Trant was an esteemed citizen and a beloved member of the Anderson community; born on June 14, 1982, in Bryan, he was raised in Grimes County, and he spent time as a youth learning about cattle and ranching from his father and grandfather; and WHEREAS, Jim-Bob graduated from Anderson High School in 2000 before earning a degree in animal science from Texas A&M University; he went on to forge a rewarding career as a cattle rancher, and he was proud of his herd of Brahman show cattle; he also delighted in sharing his knowledge and industry expertise with the youth of the Texas Junior Brahman Association; and WHEREAS, Mr. Trant dedicated his time to several civic and professional organizations, and he served his community in numerous ways; following the death of his mother, he served in her former position as Grimes County Treasurer; he was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, and he was honored to serve the congregation as head elder; and WHEREAS, Above all things, Jim-Bob cherished his family; he shared a joyful union with his devoted wife, Lauren, and their three children were a source of immeasurable pride and happiness for him; and WHEREAS, Jim-Bob was a man of kindness, strength, and spiritual devotion, and he leaves behind memories that will long be cherished by all who were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Jim-Bob Trant; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jim-Bob Trant.
