1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 35
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize the members of the Texas Federation of Republican Women
4	4	and to join them in celebrating Texas Federation of Republican
5	5	Women Day at the Capitol on February 4, 2021; and
6	6	WHEREAS, One of the largest women's organizations in the
7	7	nation, the Texas Federation of Republican Women was established
8	8	in 1955 as an outgrowth of the National Federation of Republican
9	9	Women; since its creation, the Texas group has remained committed
10	10	to the underlying principles of the Republican Party and has
11	11	worked to promote government that reflects the will of the
12	12	citizens of Texas; and
13	13	WHEREAS, This group of distinguished women seeks to foster
14	14	strength and unity in political action through outreach and
15	15	education and through its active support of Republican
16	16	candidates; the organization encourages Republican women to run
17	17	for political office and helps to prepare candidates to become
18	18	effective party leaders; members are able to engage in the
19	19	political process through local and statewide meetings and
20	20	through opportunities to participate in campaign projects and
21	21	volunteer service; and
22	22	WHEREAS, The Texas Federation of Republican Women has
23	23	partnered with the American Red Cross to help the organization to
24	24	provide life-saving blood to those in need; the political group
25	25	has assisted the nonprofit organization with its work during the
26	26	COVID-19 pandemic by offering its clubs for use as blood donation
27	27	sites; the clubs are able to provide the accommodations needed to
28	28	allow for social-distancing and are equipped with the necessary
29	29	resources to meet current health and safety protocols for blood
30	30	donation; and
31	31	WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Federation of Republican
32	32	Women carry on a proud legacy of service and political activism
33	33	in the Lone Star State, and it is indeed fitting that the
34	34	organization be honored with a special day of recognition at the
35	35	Texas Capitol; now, therefore, be it
36	36	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
37	37	Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Texas Federation
38	38	of Republican Women and extend to them best wishes for a
39	39	rewarding Texas Federation of Republican Women Day at the
40	40	Capitol; and, be it further
41	41	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
42	42	organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
