11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 35
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize the members of the Texas Federation of Republican Women
44 and to join them in celebrating Texas Federation of Republican
55 Women Day at the Capitol on February 4, 2021; and
66 WHEREAS, One of the largest women's organizations in the
77 nation, the Texas Federation of Republican Women was established
88 in 1955 as an outgrowth of the National Federation of Republican
99 Women; since its creation, the Texas group has remained committed
1010 to the underlying principles of the Republican Party and has
1111 worked to promote government that reflects the will of the
1212 citizens of Texas; and
1313 WHEREAS, This group of distinguished women seeks to foster
1414 strength and unity in political action through outreach and
1515 education and through its active support of Republican
1616 candidates; the organization encourages Republican women to run
1717 for political office and helps to prepare candidates to become
1818 effective party leaders; members are able to engage in the
1919 political process through local and statewide meetings and
2020 through opportunities to participate in campaign projects and
2121 volunteer service; and
2222 WHEREAS, The Texas Federation of Republican Women has
2323 partnered with the American Red Cross to help the organization to
2424 provide life-saving blood to those in need; the political group
2525 has assisted the nonprofit organization with its work during the
2626 COVID-19 pandemic by offering its clubs for use as blood donation
2727 sites; the clubs are able to provide the accommodations needed to
2828 allow for social-distancing and are equipped with the necessary
2929 resources to meet current health and safety protocols for blood
3030 donation; and
3131 WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Federation of Republican
3232 Women carry on a proud legacy of service and political activism
3333 in the Lone Star State, and it is indeed fitting that the
3434 organization be honored with a special day of recognition at the
3535 Texas Capitol; now, therefore, be it
3636 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
3737 Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Texas Federation
3838 of Republican Women and extend to them best wishes for a
3939 rewarding Texas Federation of Republican Women Day at the
4040 Capitol; and, be it further
4141 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
4242 organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
