2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Officer Nathan Rose of the Allen Police |

3 | 3 | | Department has been presented with a lifesaving award in |
---|
4 | 4 | | recognition of the critical role he played when responding to a |
---|
5 | 5 | | citizen in distress; and |
---|
6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, On July 13, 2020, Officer Rose was dispatched to |
---|
7 | 7 | | assist the fire department at a local store where a worker had |
---|
8 | 8 | | fallen and lost consciousness; he arrived at the scene before the |
---|
9 | 9 | | fire department, and after determining that the stricken man had |
---|
10 | 10 | | no pulse and was not breathing, he began performing chest |
---|
11 | 11 | | compressions until the fire department team arrived and took |
---|
12 | 12 | | over; the man survived and received further care at a nearby |
---|
13 | 13 | | hospital, and for his part, Officer Rose received the Life Saving |
---|
14 | 14 | | Bar from the Allen PD; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A native of Michigan, Nathan Rose studied |
---|
16 | 16 | | criminal justice at Saginaw Valley State University for three |
---|
17 | 17 | | years before answering his nation's call to duty and joining the |
---|
18 | 18 | | U.S. Navy; following his military service, he worked for FedEx |
---|
19 | 19 | | for a time before completing his studies in criminal justice and |
---|
20 | 20 | | earning his bachelor's degree in 2011; after working for |
---|
21 | 21 | | Children's Protective Services in Michigan, he moved to Texas in |
---|
22 | 22 | | 2013 and worked for Texas Child Protective Services; he joined |
---|
23 | 23 | | the Allen Police Department in 2015; in all his endeavors, he |
---|
24 | 24 | | enjoys the love and support of his wife, Victoria, and their |
---|
25 | 25 | | children, Jacob, Abigail, and Bennett; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Officer Nathan Rose's swift action helped save the |
---|
27 | 27 | | life of a fellow citizen, and his skill and professionalism have |
---|
28 | 28 | | distinguished him as an exemplary member of the law enforcement |
---|
29 | 29 | | profession; now, therefore, be it |
---|
30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
---|
31 | 31 | | Legislature, hereby commend Officer Nathan Rose for helping save |
---|
32 | 32 | | the life of a member of the community and extend to him sincere |
---|
33 | 33 | | best wishes for continued success in his important work; and, be |
---|
34 | 34 | | it further |
