SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 39
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Cheryl Groeninger, who is retiring on January 31, 2021,
from the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts after 20
years of outstanding service to the state; and
WHEREAS, Cheryl began her career in state service as an
employee of the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental
Retardation, and she went on to serve as an employee of the Texas
Health and Human Services Commission; she joined the Office of
the Comptroller of Public Accounts as the first employee hired to
serve as support staff for the Centralized Accounting and
Payroll/Personnel System support help desk, where she served as a
systems analyst; and
WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, she has been
responsible for helping to ensure the successful operation of the
payroll and commitment accounting modules for more than 80 state
agencies; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of her service with the
comptroller's office, she has provided training and mentorship
to numerous employees, and her commitment to providing excellent
customer service has set an example for others to follow; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, she is respected and
admired by her colleagues, and her presence at the Office of the
Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
Legislature, hereby commend Cheryl Groeninger on her
distinguished service to the people of Texas and extend to her
best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
