| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Cheryl Groeninger, who is retiring on January 31, 2021, |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | from the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts after 20 |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | years of outstanding service to the state; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Cheryl began her career in state service as an |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | employee of the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Retardation, and she went on to serve as an employee of the Texas |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Health and Human Services Commission; she joined the Office of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the Comptroller of Public Accounts as the first employee hired to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | serve as support staff for the Centralized Accounting and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Payroll/Personnel System support help desk, where she served as a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | systems analyst; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, she has been |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | responsible for helping to ensure the successful operation of the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | payroll and commitment accounting modules for more than 80 state |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | agencies; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of her service with the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | comptroller's office, she has provided training and mentorship |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | to numerous employees, and her commitment to providing excellent |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | customer service has set an example for others to follow; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, she is respected and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | admired by her colleagues, and her presence at the Office of the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Cheryl Groeninger on her |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | distinguished service to the people of Texas and extend to her |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 31 | 31 | | her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
