| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Joe Ferreri, who was recently honored for 70 years of |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | membership in the American Legion by Earl Graham Post 159 in |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Bryan; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Joe Ferreri was born in rural Brazos County on |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | October 20, 1919, and he served the nation with distinction as a |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | mechanic and an electrician in the United States Navy during |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | World War II; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, After the war, he returned to Bryan and worked for |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | a time in a furniture store before entering the hospitality |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | industry as a hotelier and restaurateur; he operated such local |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | landmarks as the Sugar N Spice Drive Inn and the Triangle |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Restaurant and Drive Inn; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Ferreri has taken part in a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | wide range of activities at Earl Graham Post 159; his vitality at |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the age of 101 and his commitment to community service are an |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | inspiration to all who know him; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby commend Joe Ferreri on 70 years of loyal |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | membership in the American Legion and extend to him sincere |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | gratitude for his service to the nation; and, be it further |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
