2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Faye Beaulieu is concluding her tenure on the |

3 | 3 | | board of trustees of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School |

4 | 4 | | District in May 2021, drawing to a close more than a quarter |
---|
5 | 5 | | century of outstanding service to the district; and |
---|
6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The trustee for Place 5, Ms. Beaulieu was first |
---|
7 | 7 | | elected to the board in 1995, and over the course of her exemplary |
---|
8 | 8 | | 26-year tenure, she has worked closely with the other members to |
---|
9 | 9 | | allocate resources, set policy, and ensure a process of |
---|
10 | 10 | | continuous improvement; in recent years, the district has |
---|
11 | 11 | | achieved a graduation rate of 99.5 percent, and its students have |
---|
12 | 12 | | garnered more than $9 million in scholarship offers; moreover, |
---|
13 | 13 | | the district has been rated as one of the best communities for |
---|
14 | 14 | | music education in the nation for 14 years in a row, and the |
---|
15 | 15 | | Education Resource Group has named it as the top district in |
---|
16 | 16 | | Texas for academic performance and financial efficiency for 12 of |
---|
17 | 17 | | the last 13 years; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Thanks in part to the efforts of Ms. Beaulieu and |
---|
19 | 19 | | her fellow trustees, the district offers its students programs in |
---|
20 | 20 | | theater and computer science, as well as in such STEM subjects as |
---|
21 | 21 | | engineering, robotics, cybersecurity, and network technology; |
---|
22 | 22 | | several campuses offer a Spanish language immersion program, |
---|
23 | 23 | | while others provide instruction in Arabic, Mandarin, and Hindi; |
---|
24 | 24 | | students at select elementary campuses are given the opportunity |
---|
25 | 25 | | to take part in the Suzuki Strings music program as well; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, A resident of Bedford, Ms. Beaulieu earned her |
---|
27 | 27 | | bachelor's and master's degrees in English from the Mississippi |
---|
28 | 28 | | University for Women and her doctorate in English from the |
---|
29 | 29 | | University of Mississippi; she was an educator early in her |
---|
30 | 30 | | career, and for the past 16 years, she has served as the senior |
---|
31 | 31 | | vice president for community investment at United Way of Tarrant |
---|
32 | 32 | | County; and |
---|
33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Beaulieu enjoys the |
---|
34 | 34 | | love and support of her husband, Walter, as well as that of her |
---|
35 | 35 | | children, Aimee, Carla, Steven, and Caryn, and her four |
---|
36 | 36 | | grandchildren; and |
---|
37 | 37 | | WHEREAS, Faye Beaulieu's dedication, hard work, and |
---|
38 | 38 | | commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the students of |
---|
39 | 39 | | HEB ISD and earned her the respect and admiration of her fellow |
---|
40 | 40 | | trustees, and she may indeed reflect with pride on her many |
---|
41 | 41 | | contributions to the district; now, therefore, be it |
---|
42 | 42 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
---|
43 | 43 | | Legislature, hereby commend Faye Beaulieu for her service on the |
---|
44 | 44 | | Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District Board of |
---|
45 | 45 | | Trustees and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; |
---|
