| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Tammy McRae of The Woodlands for her exemplary service |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | as the Montgomery County Tax Assessor-Collector and as president |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | of the Tax Assessor-Collectors Association of Texas; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Tammy McRae began her career in public service in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 1985 by serving as the Sabine County Tax Assessor-Collector, and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | she distinguished herself for professional excellence during |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | four terms in office; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, In 2009, Mrs. McRae accepted the position of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | chief deputy in the Montgomery County Tax Office, and she served |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | in that role until 2014, when she was appointed Montgomery County |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Tax Assessor-Collector; she was later elected to the position, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and she was reelected to her second term of office in January of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 2021; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Highly regarded by colleagues in her field, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Mrs. McRae was elected president of the Tax Assessor-Collectors |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Association of Texas; she has also served as chair and cochair of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | several association committees, and she has represented the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | association as a director on the Property Tax Education Coalition |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Board; in 2019, she was recognized as the Tax Assessor-Collector |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | of the Year; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Tammy McRae is dedicated to the highest ideals of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | public leadership, and she has received numerous accolades for |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | her professional accomplishments; she is a well-respected and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | much-beloved member of the community, and she is indeed deserving |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | of special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby commend Tammy McRae on her exceptional |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | career and her many contributions to the Montgomery County |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | community and the tax assessor-collector profession in Texas and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | extend to her sincere best wishes in all her endeavors; and, be it |
