SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 416
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Writ Baese for his outstanding service on the Round
Rock City Council; and
WHEREAS, Writ Baese was elected in 2015 to represent the
citizens of Place 5, and he was reelected in 2018; he also served
as mayor pro tempore from June of 2018 through December of 2020;
and
WHEREAS, Writ is a graduate of The University of Texas at
Austin, and he and two of his brothers are the owners of Hill
Country Payroll, a business founded by their father in 1995; Writ
is an active investor in the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce, and
he served six years on its board of directors, which included a
term as its chairman; he was named the chamber's Member of the
Year in 2010; and
WHEREAS, In addition, he has also held leadership
positions in a number of professional and civic organizations,
including the Round Rock Economic Development Partnership
Advisory Committee, the Rotary Club of Round Rock, the Saint
David's Round Rock Medical Center, and the Round Rock Independent
School District Partners in Education Foundation; he is a citizen
director for the Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority; and
WHEREAS, He served for many years as a coach for youth
baseball and basketball and as an adult leader for Boy Scout
Troop 365; it is truly fitting that he receive special
recognition for his countless contributions to his community;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
Legislature, hereby commend Writ Baese on his outstanding
service to the people of Round Rock as a community leader and as a
member of the Round Rock City Council and extend to him best
wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
