| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Writ Baese for his outstanding service on the Round |

| 4 | 4 | | Rock City Council; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Writ Baese was elected in 2015 to represent the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | citizens of Place 5, and he was reelected in 2018; he also served |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | as mayor pro tempore from June of 2018 through December of 2020; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Writ is a graduate of The University of Texas at |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Austin, and he and two of his brothers are the owners of Hill |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Country Payroll, a business founded by their father in 1995; Writ |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | is an active investor in the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | he served six years on its board of directors, which included a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | term as its chairman; he was named the chamber's Member of the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Year in 2010; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In addition, he has also held leadership |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | positions in a number of professional and civic organizations, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | including the Round Rock Economic Development Partnership |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Advisory Committee, the Rotary Club of Round Rock, the Saint |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | David's Round Rock Medical Center, and the Round Rock Independent |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | School District Partners in Education Foundation; he is a citizen |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | director for the Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, He served for many years as a coach for youth |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | baseball and basketball and as an adult leader for Boy Scout |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Troop 365; it is truly fitting that he receive special |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | recognition for his countless contributions to his community; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby commend Writ Baese on his outstanding |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | service to the people of Round Rock as a community leader and as a |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | member of the Round Rock City Council and extend to him best |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it |
