| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Alyssa Marie Broderick, who died |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | tragically on April 18, 2021, at the age of just 17; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Alyssa Broderick was an exceptional young woman |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | whose enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest was an |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | inspiration to all who were privileged to share in her life; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Born on December 16, 2003, in Waco, Alyssa was a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | former student at Elgin High School, where she was a member of the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | girls' basketball team; an excellent student, she was a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | participant in the Elgin Independent School District Early |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | College High School program; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Alyssa was known for her determination and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | attention to detail in her studies; she had a radiant smile that |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | brightened every room she entered, and the respect she showed for |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | others was a reflection of her strength of character and her |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | generous spirit; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | friend, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | forever by her family and countless friends; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | family of Alyssa Marie Broderick; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
