| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | join the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society in recognizing |

| 4 | 4 | | April 14, 2021, as Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Day; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ambulatory surgery centers provide high-quality, |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | low-cost procedures to patients who desire outpatient surgery and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the ability to return home quickly for comfortable recovery; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Texas ambulatory surgery centers are becoming a |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | preferred alternative to hospitals and other institution-based |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | forms of health care for acute care services; outpatient centers |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | provide care to hundreds of thousands of citizens each year; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, In addition to offering lower-cost alternatives |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | to patients, ambulatory surgery centers significantly affect the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | economy by saving the Texas health care system millions of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | dollars; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, It is beneficial to all Texans to raise awareness |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | about the advantages of ambulatory surgery centers and to |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | celebrate the high standards the centers uphold and the excellent |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | services they provide; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby recognize the health care professionals and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | administrators who serve at ambulatory surgery centers around |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the state and extend best wishes to all on the occasion of Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Ambulatory Surgery Center Day; and, be it further |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
