SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 446
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Midlothian Heritage High School girls' soccer
team, which won the 2021 University Interscholastic League Class
4A state championship; and
WHEREAS, The Jaguars won their second state title by
defeating Calallen High School by a score of 6-0 in a match that
saw them score four goals in a 10-minute span early in the first
half and limit their opponents to only one shot on goal; the team
dominated their opposition throughout the playoffs with a 36-1
goal differential; and
WHEREAS, These young athletes have demonstrated great
talent and perseverance over the course of the year, and the team
end the season with 16 consecutive victories and an overall
record of 27-1; and
WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of
head coach Gerald Slovacek, the Jaguars developed exceptional
teamwork and discipline; and
WHEREAS, Winning a state championship is a daunting task
that requires countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
commitment to excellence; the Jaguars can take justifiable pride
in their impressive skills and their outstanding achievement;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
Legislature, hereby commend the Midlothian Heritage High School
girls' soccer team on their successful season and congratulate them
on winning the 2021 Class 4A state championship; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the team as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
