                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 448
 In Memory
 of
 Bill Baker
 WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort
 those saddened by the death of Bill Baker of Terrell, who passed
 away on June 25, 2020, at the age of 75; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Carthage on May 16, 1945, Bill Baker was
 the son of Arthur Lee and Julia Margaret Dean Baker, and he grew
 up with the companionship of four siblings, Anne, Robert, James,
 and Tommy; he graduated in 1963 from Marshall High School, where
 he was an All-American athlete, and he was awarded a football
 scholarship to attend Austin College; he went on to enjoy a
 successful career with the Teamsters that spanned more than three
 decades until his retirement in 1995; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Baker settled in Terrell in 1985 and became
 active in the local community; he chaired the Kaufman County
 Republican Party and served as president of the Terrell Rotary
 Club; moreover, he was a member of the Terrell Planning and
 Zoning board as well as several charitable organizations;
 sustained by an abiding faith, he was a valued congregant of Lake
 Pointe Church; and
 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Baker enjoyed the love
 and support of his wife, Kathy, with whom he shared a rewarding
 union of nearly 27 years; he took great pride in his four
 children, Barbara, Kimberly, William, and Heather, and with the
 passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to
 include nine grandchildren, Scott Crawford, William and Joseph
 Parlett, Joseph Langley, Cameron and Brody Conner, and Nicholas,
 Blaze, and William Baker; and
 WHEREAS, Although he will be deeply missed, the passage of
 time will never diminish the joy and love that Bill Baker brought
 into the lives of all who knew him; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
 Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Bill Baker and
 extend sincere condolences to his loved ones; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
 on this day, it do so in memory of Bill Baker.
