2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Fort Worth real estate icon Joan Trew is retiring |

3 | 3 | | in 2021, following a noteworthy career spanning 44 years; and |

4 | 4 | | WHEREAS, Licensed in 1977, Ms. Trew started out as an agent |
---|
5 | 5 | | with William Rigg Realtors, and within a decade, she was |
---|
6 | 6 | | recognized by Texas Monthly as one of six outstanding Realtors in |
---|
7 | 7 | | the state; she joined forces with other top performers in 2000 to |
---|
8 | 8 | | found Williams Trew Real Estate, which emerged as a dominant |
---|
9 | 9 | | brokerage in the area; in 2015, it became part of the Ebby |
---|
10 | 10 | | Halliday Companies, an affiliate of Berkshire Hathaway's |
---|
11 | 11 | | HomeServices of America; and |
---|
12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Trew has received numerous accolades, |
---|
13 | 13 | | including a Great Women of Texas Award from the Fort Worth |
---|
14 | 14 | | Business Press, the 2016 Fort Worth Executive of the Year Award |
---|
15 | 15 | | from the Fort Worth Business Hall of Fame, and, most recently, |
---|
16 | 16 | | the R. L. Purvis Distinguished Service Award from the Greater |
---|
17 | 17 | | Fort Worth Association of Realtors; over the years, she has been |
---|
18 | 18 | | a mentor to numerous agents, and she has demonstrated an |
---|
19 | 19 | | exceptional commitment to her community, supporting many |
---|
20 | 20 | | worthwhile organizations; she was instrumental in bringing the |
---|
21 | 21 | | first Ronald McDonald House to Fort Worth in 1981, and she has |
---|
22 | 22 | | been especially active with the American Heart Association; in |
---|
23 | 23 | | 2015, she co-chaired its Tarrant County "Go Red" campaign; and |
---|
24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, A longtime leader in Fort Worth real estate, Joan |
---|
25 | 25 | | Trew has set an inspiring example of professionalism and |
---|
26 | 26 | | dedication, and as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of |
---|
27 | 27 | | her life she may indeed reflect with pride on her |
---|
28 | 28 | | accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
---|
29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
---|
30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Joan Trew on her retirement |
---|
31 | 31 | | from the real estate industry and extend to her sincere best |
---|
32 | 32 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
