SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 496 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Gail Hoy, who is retiring after a distinguished 35-year career as an educator and many years of outstanding service to the Conroe community; and WHEREAS, Gail Hoy is a beloved teacher who has devoted her time and energy to the education of young people for more than three and a half decades; her commitment to supporting and guiding students toward achieving their full potential has had a positive influence on the lives of many, and her service as an educator in Conroe schools has been an invaluable benefit to the community; and WHEREAS, Gail Hoy began her teaching career in 1976 and has served as an English teacher for students in elementary schools, intermediate schools, and junior high schools; she has served in school districts across several states, and since 1995, she has served as a teacher in Texas at Montgomery Intermediate School, Travis Intermediate School, and Peet Junior High School; and WHEREAS, A dedicated and resourceful educator, she has instilled in her students a love of learning and challenge, and it is indeed fitting that this exemplary educator receive special recognition for her many years of loyalty and hard work and for her exceptional service to the Conroe community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th Legislature, hereby commend Gail Hoy for her many contributions to the educational system of Texas and to the people of Conroe and extend to her best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
