| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize William David Lacy of Waco, who has been inducted into |

| 4 | 4 | | the Texas Bankers Hall of Fame; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Lacy was one of five 2020 honorees to be |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | inducted at the Eighth Annual Texas Bankers Hall of Fame Gala; |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | this prestigious honor was established by the Smith-Hutson |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Endowed Chair of Banking at Sam Houston State University and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | recognizes outstanding bankers who have made valuable |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | contributions to the banking profession; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A fourth-generation bank president whose father |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | is also in the Texas Bankers Hall of Fame, William David Lacy has |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | served as president of Community Bank and Trust in Waco since |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 1999; he began his distinguished banking career in 1979 and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | learned the profession by working in a range of areas; he was a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | teller, and he worked in audit, information technology, and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | marketing before becoming a commercial lender; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Prior to joining Community Bank and Trust in 1990, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Mr. Lacy worked for RepublicBank Corporation and NationsBank; he |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | has also held leadership positions in multiple civic and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | philanthropic organizations, including the Greater Waco Chamber |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | of Commerce, the Texas Sports Hall of Fame, and the Cook |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Children's Medical Center; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, William David Lacy has had a positive impact on |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the banking industry in Waco and our state, and it is truly |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | fitting that he receive special recognition for his |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | contributions to his profession; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby commend William David Lacy on his |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | outstanding achievements in the banking industry and extend |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | congratulations to him on his induction into the Texas Bankers |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Hall of Fame; and, be it further |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
