| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Oscar Guajardo, who is retiring from the Brownsville |

| 4 | 4 | | Independent School District after more than 45 years of |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | outstanding service; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Guajardo began his distinguished career in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | education as a physical education aide in Brownsville while still |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | attending college; after earning a degree from Texas A&I |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | University in 1972, he taught for a time in Port Isabel before |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | returning to Brownsville as a teacher at Skinner Elementary |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | School; he also earned a master's degree and a professional |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | administration degree; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, He was a member of the special education faculty |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | at Skinner Elementary School for 20 years before working as a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | counselor at Victoria Heights and Perez Elementary Schools for 10 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | years; in 2007, he began working full-time at Perez Elementary |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | School, where he has developed many lasting friendships; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary educator, Mr. Guajardo has had a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | positive impact on the lives of countless students, and his |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | presence at Perez Elementary School will be greatly missed; now, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend Oscar Guajardo on his exceptional |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | service to the people of Brownsville as an educator with the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Brownsville Independent School District and extend to him best |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | further |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
