| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay |

| 3 | 3 | | tribute to a beloved and highly regarded longtime staff member, |

| 4 | 4 | | Sylvia Camarillo, who is retiring after almost 5 years of loyal |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | service in the office of Senator Royce West and over 35 years |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | working in the public sector; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Sylvia Camarillo joined the staff of Senator West |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | on November 15, 2016, and she is now retiring from her position as |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the legislative executive assistant in his office; in that |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | capacity, Mrs. Camarillo has long held a reputation for carrying |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | out her duties in a flawless manner and for always demonstrating |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | an eagerness to help in whatever way possible; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, She has also been noted for her cheerful |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | disposition, her warmth, and her graciousness and for managing |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | her responsibilities with enthusiasm and professionalism; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Prior to joining the office of Senator West, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Mrs. Camarillo worked for former Senator Rodney Ellis, former |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Senator Gonzalo Barrientos, Governor George Bush, Governor Ann |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Richards, the Travis County Sheriff's department, and Travis |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | County Human Resources; over the course of her lengthy career in |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | public service, she has had an impact on the successful |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | administration of numerous matters, and her diligence and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | dedication to her work have made her an important asset to each |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | office in which she has served; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Camarillo has been active for many years in |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | community affairs and has served as a precinct chair and attended |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | many county and state conventions; she also served as executive |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | director of the Travis County Democratic Party; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, She is a devoted wife to her husband, Jimmy, and a |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | loving daughter to her mother, Rachael, who lives with her and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | her family, and she looks forward to spending more time with them |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | upon her retirement; and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary Senate employee, Mrs. Camarillo has |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | been an invaluable team member in the office of Senator West, |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | where her high standards and commitment to excellence have long |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | been appreciated; she is beloved and respected by her co-workers |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | and legislative colleagues, and her presence in the Texas Capitol |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | Legislature, hereby commend Sylvia Camarillo on her exceptional |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | career and on her loyal service as an employee in the office of |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | Senator Royce West and extend to her best wishes for the |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | retirement years ahead; and, be it further |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
